Jesse Lis brings the ultimate cycling classes and endurance training to BodyTek.  The 33-year-old says he tends to “gravitate towards extreme sports”.  He started skateboarding, BMX riding, and playing soccer around the age of 7.  A process of elimination left skateboarding as the dominate sport which lead to a sponsorship with Vans Shoe Co. and a local surf/skate shop.  Cycling came back into Jesse’s life strong at the age of 15 in the form of mountain biking.  A few years later he was diagnosed with asthma and made the switch to road cycling.  Along the way he studied exceptional professionals such as Eddy Merckx, Lance Armstrong, and George Hincapie to perfect his own skill.  Focusing on cycle racing and taking up kayaking, he began to heal and strengthen his lungs by averaging 400 miles a week, paddling, and weight training.  Jesse brings a training style of leg concentration and respiratory strengthening to BodyTek.  These days, if he’s not riding one of his many bikes, he can be found at his home in the Ghent area of Norfolk painting or in his kitchen honing his culinary skills.
